LOCATION OVERVIEW

LOCATION OVERVIEW

On the east coast of Australia, approximately 80 kilometres south of Brisbane, the Gold Coast is located within one of the country’s fastest growing regions and stretches along 57 kilometres of coastline.

Sheraton Mirage Resort and Spa occupies a 4 ha site on the beachfront side of “The Spit” – a narrow landmass that sits between the Pacific Ocean and “The Broadwater” a substantial basin of protected water extending from the mouth of the Nerang River to the western side of South Stradbroke Island.

It is approximately 3 km north of the famous Surfers Paradise and just to the north of Main Beach, an enclave of high rise apartments and the home of the prestigious Southport Yacht Club.

Directly opposite the Sheraton Mirage Resort and Spa, and linked to it by an overhead pedestrian bridge, is Marina Mirage, an upmarket specialty shops and restaurants development fronting a large marina (originally developed as part of Sheraton Mirage). To the immediate north of Marina Mirage is the Palazzo Versace Hotel and to the south a marina and retail development known as Mariners Cove.

Further to the north of this development area is the acclaimed Seaworld Theme Park and its associated leisure hotel. “The Spit” terminates just north of Seaworld at what is called the Seaway, which is a protected passage providing boat access to the ocean from the Broadwater.

Sheraton Mirage Resort and Spa (and the apartments developed in conjunction with it) is the only development on the beachfront side of The Spit. The balance area is parkland or bushland.

The absence of built up development on The Spit contributes to the exclusive “island like” feel of the resort.

The property is 40 minutes and one hour from the Coolangatta and Brisbane airports respectively.
